After a long winter, it’s time to celebrate the beginning of the summer season in the Northern hemisphere.

I’ll be spending June in my country of origin, Finland. It will be magical as Finland is blessed to have nightless nights and endless Light during summer. It’s a huge contrast to winter’s polar nights. 

This reminds me that we appreciate so much more Light when we have experienced darkness, at least I do! The dualist reality where we are living is based on learning through polarities good-bad, hot-cold, sorrow-joy and so on. They are all part of life but what we do with them is up to us. 

Often we categorize our experiences and give labels to them. But what if we would focus on finding a learning from each experience. That way we might be able to let go of some labels and just see more clearly what is/was. 

Why this is important? Because the labels can make us to stay stuck with the past events. You can test this. Just scan your life from this moment backwards until you find an event that has a negative label. Observe if that event has an emotional charge: what happens in your body, what thoughts are coming forward, what are you feeling? If you sense the charge, you can start processing this event in order to make peace with it. 

As long as you are not in peace with your past, you have a hot button that people might keep pushing. This might trigger you to think, say and do something that you might regret later. 

But it is possible to release those hot buttons. It is a process that you can start by observing your thoughts - what are the judgments that you have made? What kind of situations are pushing your button?

Just imagine for a moment how your life would be if you would have absolute inner peace with that past event… It is possible and it is available for you. 

It might sound too simple to just observe but it is so powerful because it will start rising your level of awareness. But you don’t need to believe what I say, you can test this! Just start with observing yourself during 1 day and write down your observations. It might bring interesting insights!

Last month Mercury was on retrograde and that continues until May 3rd… If you don’t know astrology, you may want to know this one! I have started to pay more attention to these periods so that I can add an extra layer of compassion towards myself and others. All planets go retrograde, but Mercury’s journey seems to impact people much more than any other. Why is that? It’s because of Mercury rules communication, clear thinking, truth, and travel, so when the planet goes retrograde — which means that it looks like it’s going backward in the sky — all those things go backward. And also your electronic devices may crash for no reason! 

For me, it was a challenging month to share my message as I experienced lots of issues with my internet connection. All of the sudden, the internet speed would drop, so I couldn’t do a scheduled Facebook Live or a planned interview... I needed to wait and wait while pages were opening…

I felt how frustration started building up inside of me. It sneaked in with an expectation that the internet should work like it had done yesterday. Those tempting ‘should’ sentences were just making the fire of frustration grow inside of me. All of the sudden, even the neighbors’ dog was barking louder and everything irritated me. I sensed pressure in my body, so much so, that I realized that I got to shift the energy fast or I would “explode” - I took the insight seriously and put on my gym clothes. I went for a brisk walk. I started breathing deeply again. Once I got home I felt better but I still added another step of self-care and did a guided meditation - I felt calm enough to do it now before the walk it would not have worked.

So what to do during those moments of frustration? Take a deep breath and observe it! Be curious what is happening in your body and what is the thought behind that truly is the cause for frustration. For example, I found out that the internet issues were just a trigger and deeper down I judged myself for letting people down as I wasn’t able to be impeccable with my word. If possible, do some physical activity like a walk in nature as that will help to get back in balance.

In my case, spring cleaning meant packing as I’m heading to Europe for summer. I’m not a fan of packing as I need to make decisions - what do I take with me, what will I store and what will I donate. As I went through my stuff that magically had accumulated, it was also a wonderful process of letting go of things that don’t serve me any longer. It felt so good to let go of some old clothes that had been only collecting dust on my wardrobe.

You might already be aware of Marie Condo’s book called “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing”, it has a.magic phrase ‘does this bring me joy?’. I used it during my packing process.

If your home feels messy, or maybe it’s your life or thoughts, you can start by organizing one thing in your home. Take a small step like putting one thing to its place, choosing one item to donate. It might feel incredibly small action but we need to start somewhere and often when we start something, we get on-roll of doing it.

Creating organization and clarity in one area, however tiny, might help to gain clarity on other areas as well. Also note that things accumulate energy too - so you might start feeling lighter if you let go of things that don’t serve you any longer.  

This same applies to our memories & stuffed down emotions too - our body is like a storage unit for them. If we store our past hurts for a long period of time, there is a price that we need to pay for this storage. It can be unhealthy as these emotions can toxify us. Simply, our lives don’t function too well, we might keep attracting people and situation that keep poking our hurt or experience self-sabotaging patterns, sleep problems, depression, and lack of energy. Do you feel that you are movingforward with a purpose or are you feeling lost? 

Recently I got lost. During February, California did not quite match its sunny reputation. One day, I had to drive in a local winter storm that brought a LOT of rain into the drought-stricken state. Whether it was due to heavy rain or something else, my GPS went absolutely berserk. It led me to drive around the same block without directing me towards my destination. I pulled over and took a moment to study the map on my phone, then I planned my route and continued my journey.

And unbelievable but true - later that day, it happened again! Then I knew that this was a message for me!

Often, we are looking for a purpose, a deeper meaning for our lives, and we hope to find a map that would lead us there, or at least I hoped to find it before. I pondered already at a very young age what is the purpose of my life and how I could find the path that would help me to fulfill my mission here.

We live in the midst of abundance, we have so many possibilities, and also distractions that test us on our journey. Sometimes we may be afflicted with the difficulty to choose. Sometimes it may seem easier to follow others instead of having the courage to create our own unique path. It's also possible that we might focus on boosting our egos or numbing ourselves with food, alcohol or drugs, or we can concentrate on seeking physical satisfaction... Or we can simply end up repeating the same old pattern over and over again. But all these experiences have a purpose.

During that winter day, I had to stop and contemplate. After a while, the purpose of the message became crystal clear. I had got back to my old pattern in one of my relationships. It was the pattern that I had already wanted to leave behind me but as usual, it's easy to go back to old habits. This awareness gave me an opportunity to make a course correction. In the past, I have had a tendency to go for an extra mile for others even if it means sacrificing myself, as I set my own desires behind others. Now I was faced with a choice - I could keep repeating the old pattern, or I could put my own desires first and have an open and honest discussion around this topic with my friend. Thanks to this awareness I am able to break through this pattern and take a step forward.

We can use all our experiences for learning, upliftment, and growth. For me, the wide spectrum of emotions and experiences began to make more sense when I saw a clearer picture of the overall purpose of my life. I learned to understand my life lessons, talents and goals better during a Soul Plan Reading in 2011. It was the moment when pieces of a puzzle started to fall into place, and I could see how a bigger picture started to take a form. My Soul Plan became like a road map that has helped me forward in this world.

February is the month when some of us celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s the month of Love! Often, we focus on our partner, and if you don’t have a partner, it might be a day of misery.


At least, it was for me years ago… I remember that I had my ‘Bridget Jones’ moment when I sat on the sofa with a big bowl of ice cream. I had bought it to comfort me after receiving a Valentine’s Day message from my ex. And I felt so lonely and unloved. 

Back then, I looked for Love outside and felt that there was no love for me as I was all alone.

Now I see things very differently... I've learned that I can not find love from the outside if I could not find it first within. It has been one of my life lessons and Karma brought me many challenges when it felt that it would be so much easier just to close my heart, but that's not why I'm here. Despite the challenges, I have found the courage to keep my heart open and to love wholeheartedly.

Somewhere during the years, you may have learned to diminish your self-love. You might have come up with all kind of reasons why you don’t deserve your love. I’m just wondering what could change in your life if you would choose to love yourself wholeheartedly? Just allow yourself to take a moment to imagine that… And if you already love yourself, that’s absolutely fantastic, but what if you could feel even more love?

Take care of yourself on all levels. Do those things that will be uplifting.  ~ John-Roger 

What could be a microscopic change towards self-love? Remember that it can be a very simple thing that takes less than a minute like giving yourself a hug.

Be your own best friend and love yourself wholeheartedly!

I started my New Year in Sydney, Australia! This has been on my bucket list ever since I watched Sydney’s amazing fireworks on the telly when I was a little girl. And yes, they were even more amazing in real life! You can watch them here.

Last week, when I started thinking about my New Year’s Resolution, a word came to my mind and didn’t want to leave. It was like a flashing billboard sign until I agreed that it can be my guiding keyword for the year. It might not have been my first choice without this gentle push from Spirit but I know that it’s the optimal word for me during 2017. My year will be WHOLEHEARTED. As soon as I said YES to the word, I recalled Brené Brown’s quote:

“Wholehearted living is about engaging with our lives from a place of worthiness. It means cultivating the courage, compassion and connection to wake up in the morning and think, ‘No matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.’ It’s going to bed at night thinking, ‘Yes, I am imperfect and vulnerable and sometimes afraid, but that doesn’t change the truth that I am also brave and worthy of love and belonging.” 

During this year it will be my intention to live wholeheartedly. I’m excited to embark this new journey!

As you might know that these newsletter topics are channeled and as much as I wanted to write a lovely Christmassy letter I acknowledge the importance of this topic so here it comes...  

The idea for this message came to me during one of my hikes in the Australian nature. When I’m in nature, it makes me feel nurtured. I sense the presence of Mother Earth strongly here. Often during my hikes, I see a piece of glass on the ground. I pick it up, carry it with me and then put it ina bin - it reminds me of my Karma Cleanse work. But it also reminded me of my childhood. I had the privilege
 to grow up in the countryside in Finland where the forest was my playground and the nearby river was my swimming pool. 

Later I chose to change the countryside to the city life… I fell in love with the buzz of cities and the cities kept getting bigger and bigger. Last two years I lived in Santa Monica just next to Los Angeles that has, unfortunately, the worst ozone pollution in the States.

There are many people who want to close their eyes for the climate change, but please be the one that keeps their eyes open and takes action! 

It might feel overwhelming and you might wonder what can one person do to change anything when some powerful politicians and big business owners are keeping their eyes tightly closed. But when you raise your awareness, you are affecting to the collective level of awareness and once that grows more and more people are awakening to care for Mother Earth. Your actions do count!

What could be your Christmas gift to Mother Earth? It could be as easy as choosing one eco-friendly habit like recycling, carpooling or switching light bulbs in your home. You can also consider turning your thermostat down just a degree or reducing the usage of a central air conditioner.

I must admit that I have been afraid that I fail. The fear of failure has been the scary monster under my bed. As I’m following my calling, it led me to a road less traveled. I have found it challenging at times, sometimes even lonely... But I want to share with you a recent incident that has helped me to continue on my path. Maybe it will help you too!


I participated Bill Baren’s Unstoppable event and when I headed to a lunch, I was pumped up with energy and bubbled about business ideas with a new acquaintance. As usual, I walked on my sky-high heels, but my journey was suddenly interrupted as you might have already guessed... I stepped into a crack in the asphalt and lost my balance. I fell down. My left knee hit the concrete, and it hurt... 

As I got up, I thought that ‘Oh yeah, the whole day I aimed to brainwash myself to believe that I’m unstoppable and then a little crack can put me down on my knees...’ 

I walked slowly back to the hotel with my worried acquaintance. I just wanted to cover my wound because I felt embarrassed. Luckily, I got some first aid products from the hotel’s reception for my bloody knee. Once I got the wound cleaned and covered, I suddenly felt a giggle building inside of me. I got the Universe’s twisted joke on this!


I fell down in order to simply get up again and continue my journey one lesson wiser! I realized that my initial embarrassment was just my own judgment as I wanted to be flawless, but that’s not really an option in life. I realized that I had immediately recognized my judgment and applied a huge dose of compassionate self-forgiveness and self-love! The two years of Spiritual Psychology studies are paying off!  

Sometimes we might fall down, sometimes we might make mistakes, but the most important thing is how we relate to ourselves while we are going through the situation… If we find ourselves on our knees,  it does not mean that we can’t continue! 

I'm no longer embarrassed about the scar on my knee - nor my other scars - they are reminders that I have continued my journey! They show my incredible capacity to heal. It's true that I might face small or big challenges on my way but I keep moving forward towards the Light!

Have you left fear behind? Now we are heading to the last quarter of the year and it’s a good time to take a moment to see what has happened this year so far and what would you like to achieve during the remaining year?

My plan for the year changed drastically during the summer. Instead of continuing my dream life in California, I will start a new adventure as I will be heading to visit Australia soon! I adjusted my plan and my attitude! Now I’m excited about my travel and an opportunity to meet wonderful people in Australia! And I won’t be going empty handed, I’ll take with me an incredible Instant Miracle and Peace Process Mastery that I learned in September! 

During the training I witnessed miracles that helped people to heal, release, and let go of the fears, doubts, limitations that held them back from all of the money, love, health, and happiness they wanted. Personally I experienced a miracle too as I was finally able to release one of my biggest fears. In the past, I felt that it was not safe to fully step into my own power and share my gifts. This persistent fear had captured itself into my solar plexus and I had carried it there for lifetimes. I had been able to reduce it through my inner work but now I feel that it was finally released. When I think about sharing my gifts, I feel peaceful and excited! I took a step from thinking to taking action - I stepped out from hiding and shared my Karma Cleanse with the world on Facebook! 

Now I recommend that you'll take a moment to think about your goals. Notice what comes to your mind when you do that. Are you encouraging yourself or putting yourself down? Are you seeing solutions or obstacles? Then shift your focus on your body - what are you feeling in your body? Take a note of your body’s message for you and send Love to the most intensive part of the feeling. 

Once you have allowed yourself to feel your own love, create a clear vision for the rest of 2016 and tangible action steps that you can take! And remember, it's never too late to let your Light shine!

<![CDATA[Birthday Greetings]]>Fri, 16 Sep 2016 06:42:05 GMThttp://katjarusanen.com/blog/birthday-greetingsToday was my special day - I celebrated my birthday by listening to windmills in a hammock, walking on the beach and listening to the waves of the Pacific Ocean, and going for a yoga and meditation class in the Deepak Chopra's Center where I listened to my body and Spirit. 

The class was a perfect one for me as its Sanskrit mantra was "Om Ritam Namah" - my intentions and desires are supported by the Universe. It made me smile as earlier today I made a list of my intentions and desires for my personal new year. It seemed that the Universe received my order and promise to support them. 

"Om Ritam Namah" - you can also set a clear intention. Once you have done it, trust that the outcome will be for your highest good. Practice living in now instead of waiting for your intention to manifest, it will on its own Divine time.
