New Year is traditionally a time to reflect on where we are in our lives and to think about changes that we'd like to do. The purpose of New Year's Resolutions is to help us focus on positive changes we want to make in our lives. In case you didn’t make a New Year's resolution, you can do one right now! Investing in your own well-being is never wasted!
When you begin to take steps towards the positive changes, make sure that:
- your goals are realistic,
- you give yourself some milestones,
- you reserve enough time,
- you recognize and give yourself credit for taking small steps towards feeling better,
- you choose to support your goals with positive thinking, and
- you believe that you can reach your goal!
Think about how many times a baby falls while learning to walk? So many times we want to get the results of the change immediately and get upset when it does not happen - be patient and think that you can change! Say yes to the desired change on a daily basis. If you need some motivation, you can close your eyes for a moment and imagine how good it would feel to be waking up on January 1st 2014 having kept every resolution. And what would stop you from writing some encouraging slogans to a piece of paper and putting them all around your home.
When we are learning a new skill or a habit, we might need some support on our journey just like a child who is learning to walk. By sharing your goals with trusted friends, family members, online group, or with me, you can get support on your way.
Love and Light to your days!
