Why losing weight is such a struggle? Even if you know all about diets and follow extreme exercise regime, you might still end up running around in circles. You might temporarily lose those kilos but as soon as you stop keeping a hawk eye watch, the kilos sneak their way onto your body again. This vicious circle might have already made you give up and accept your role as a victim of your weight.
What are the stories you tell yourself about your body and your weight? Maybe there are some beliefs stopping you to lose weight… Maybe you are still carrying some hurtful words and comforting yourself with food... It’s also easy to blame your parents for giving you bad genes, your work for the stress, or even bakeries for offering you all those calorie bombs... If only I didn’t have my sweet tooth… If only this or that didn’t happen to me… If only I would be in my ideal weight, I would be happy… Overweight can be a great excuse to feel sad, lonely, and be stuck in a dead-end job or relationship, but it’s you who is doing this to yourself!
There is a saying that what we resist persist. It won’t help you if you are spending too much time in front of the mirror wishing and wanting to look different rather than seeing the beauty within you. When you want to lose weight, nutrition and exercise are ways that won’t work if you don’t work to solve the cause. Weight is only a symptom and you need to focus first on the underlying causes behind it. If you do not clear the frustration, emotional blockages and limiting believes, it will be very hard to make permanent changes.
You can start today developing a new relationship with your body and reach greater self-love and body confidence. Remember that beauty comes in different shapes and sizes
