Why does it have to be so hard? We make it difficult because we believe that there is only one right choice and all the other options are wrong. We put the labels “right choice” and “wrong choice”. It’s this labeling that makes our decision making process so hard.
How about if you see that there are no right or wrong? Then there would be only different choices that bring different outcomes, different lessons to learn and different journey to enjoy.
Every choice has its pros and cons as well as the path where it leads us. You evaluate them and ask yourself which will take you towards your goals. If you haven’t defined your goals yet, it’s time to think about them first and define what you want from your life. You hardly go out without knowing where you’re heading; it’s same with our lives. Once we know the goal it’s much easier to make decisions too. We simply ask if the choice will take us towards our goal or not.
Learn to listen to your gut feeling, it normally knows the best. Make your decision with a trust that it will be the best decision you can make on that given moment. Often we end up taking decisions against our gut feeling and we regret it later. Instead of playing the never-ending “I should have…” game, which just drains your energy and puts you down, do exactly the same thing as if you would be driving somewhere. Stop to check the road map and find a new route that leads towards your destination!
