This month I’m interviewing Marian Masoliver, who was one of my teachers during the workshop. She is the director and a founder member of the Actors Space which is a well established International Centre of Film and Theatre located in a place of outstanding natural beauty, one hour from Barcelona.
1. Tell us about yourself.
My name is Marian Masoliver, I am 44, married and have a daughter who is 14. I feel fulfilled in my life. I had so far a very interesting life full of love and adventure. I teach and direct Theatre and Film.
2. How did you find your path? Was there a special event that led you to this path?
My passion took me there. I looked for the best training and went for it a very young age. The special event was studying at the International Jacques Lecoq Theatre School in Paris.
3. I would like to go back to the early days in your career. Could you give some examples of how you might have fallen off your path and what you did to get back on it?
I felt a little insecure but was backed up by someone who strongly believed in me and kept putting me back on the path.
4. Who your mentors were when you first got started on your path and who are your current mentors that you turn to for inspiration?
My partner was my mentor when I first started and now I have other support. Specially a friend that mentors me.
5. If there were one thing you could tell people to try to do that would help them to make their dreams come true, what would it be?
Keep on searching until you find what you are looking for. Ask for help when you need it.
