It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with Christmas stress as we think that everything has to be perfect and the best. A long list for the Christmas shopping or too many things to do, these can make you feel that Christmas is not so good for you…
But this is not due to the true Christmas Spirit; this is what we have made the Christmas to be. Counting the presents and counting the treats, but why we can’t just focus on the most precious gifts: our lives and our loved ones.
What if that’s exactly what you are afraid of? What if the family is turning you mood from merry to molly? I give you three tips that you can easily do and they might have a big impact to the whole situation.
1. If you repeat a certain negative pattern year after year, think about beforehand how you could change things. It does not mean that you need to keep doing the same thing just because of the family tradition. If the old Christmas traditions aren’t making you happy or they are causing you a lot of holiday stress, it’s time to do something different. Think about what you could do differently and make the changes.
2. If you get upset about something that your family member or relative says or does, remember that you can’t control what they say or do but you can control your reaction. Focus on your own state of mind and inner peace.
3. If you have a family member or relative that you do not get along that well, make a list of 10 things you are grateful for that person before your get-together. This helps to make a difference in your attitude and your energy.
Open your heart for the true Christmas Spirit! Let it fill your heart with loving, sharing and giving thoughts. The more we share the Christmas Spirit, the more it grows. The world turns for a moment into a peaceful and friendly home, where even strangers wish you “Merry Christmas” with a smile; and say that it will be a jolly good Christmas time...
Love yourself and allow yourself to let the true Christmas Spirit into your heart. Feel how it fills with unconditional love, it tells you that you are loved.
Spread the Christmas love and cheer!
With love and light,
