Please tell us about yourself.
My life-changing journey as a holistic therapist began with hypnotherapy training with The Northern College of Creative Hypnotherapy at Tameside Hospital. I have always been interested in the power of the subconscious mind and we can all change our lives for the better, using our inner strength. After gaining the diploma in 2010 I began working as a hypnotherapist and I experienced job satisfaction for the first time. I guide people to help themselves and I am still amazed by the changes that clients can make. I enjoy learning new skills and since becoming a hypnotherapist I have trained to level 3 in Emotional Freedom Technique and become an Usui Reiki Master. As part of my continued professional development I have completed additional hypnotherapy training in Past Life Regression.
Can you please briefly explain what is hypnotherapy and who can benefit from it?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for self-improvement and the release of problems. It is completely natural and safe and is often compared to daydreaming. All hypnotherapy employs hypnosis but not all hypnosis is hypnotherapy. If you have never tried hypnotherapy before, I can assure you that it is nothing like stage hypnotism. As the author Chris Holmes put it “stage hypnotism is to hypnotherapy what darts is to acupuncture.”
What made you interested in hypnotherapy? Was there a special event that led you to this path?
I have always been interested in the power of the mind to change limiting beliefs and I believe most people are unaware of their own abilities and strengths. Training to be a hypnotherapist was the right decision for me. I was unhappy working in a boring office job and I had the feeling that I was meant to do something more with my life. Since making the change I have guided many people and helped them to help themselves. Hypnotherapy is about empowering the client and helping them to reach their true potential.
What is the biggest benefit you have received from hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy has led me to a greater understanding of who I really am. I am now aware that I am a soul having a human experience and we are all a part of the universal consciousness. I no longer have a fear of death as I now view death as a change and not an end.
