Today I'm interviewing Tia about the pursuit of her dreams and happiness.
1. Tell us about yourself.
My name is Tia and I´m originally from Finland, but I´m living and working in Barcelona. I’m interested in many things, but two of my biggest passions are yoga and photography, which I combine in my yoga related blog called "Art of Doing Yoga", a beautiful project I share with my good friend Madelene. I also enjoy very much helping other people through my weekly yoga classes. These things make me happy and light.
2. What made you interested in yoga? Was there a special event that led you to this path?
I think in the beginning it was mainly curiosity that led me to the path of yoga. It was back in 2001 when I was still living in Helsinki, and had recently returned back to the north after some time spent in Southern Europe. I was extremely busy with both full-time studies and work and that year ended up to be extremely stressful, so I kind of found some new inspiration and stress relief in yoga. I was introduced to the world of yoga through ashtanga, which at that time was quite a new phenomenon in Finland and it hooked me from the beginning, first physically and then spiritually as well.
3. What is the biggest benefit that you have received from yoga?
Yoga brings balance to my life and with vata (air) constitution dominating I highly appreciate it. Yoga combined with Ayurveda, the science of life, has helped me to find more grounding elements in my life and it has brought me back to the connection with nature. During the years yoga has also expanded my consciousness, and I can really see yoga as a great gift.
4. If there were one thing you could tell people to try to do that would help them on their journey, what would it be?
In the journey of life I would suggest to start listening to your inner guru or however you want to call this deep voice inside ourselves. Usually he/she has the right answer, you just need to learn how to listen to yourself.
5. Do you have a special affirmation or message that you would like to share with the readers?
Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. I think this kind of attitude always pays off and it will make this life so much better for you and the others as well.
