1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Daniella Blechner and I am passionate about inspiring and empowering others through the sharing of stories, identifying and challenging negative belief systems and patterns, and unleashing the True inner voice.
I have written for as long as I can remember and enjoy writing to uplift, elevate and entertain others. Aged four I declared was going to publish and book and at 35 I published my debut book “Mr Wrong” in September 2014 which became a Best Seller on the day of publish and went on to publish the Mr Wrong Work Book and poetry anthology 7 Shades of Love.
In 2015, I set up my book coaching and publishing company Conscious Dreams
Publishing and I am looking for aspiring
authors who have impactful stories to tell
and wish to self-publish.
I am also a teacher and healer and put my Heart into everything I do. I currently run an empowerment workshop for women called 7 Steps to Creating the Greatest Version of You for women who want to create, evolve and be empowered. This workshop allows women to identify their values, establish their needs wants and desires, set intentions, exercise forgiveness and create their very own vision boards. The aim is to get this into schools and encourage our young people- the future of today.
As a lover of books, knowledge and learning, I have recently become the radio host of the Power Xtra Book Review Show and enjoy interviewing up and coming authors and help raise their profile. It’s a tough world out there and I love to support those who wish to have a positive impact on the world.
2. Was there a special event that led you to this career path?
There was no special event that led me to this career path per se. I have always written. I went through a very tough time between the ages of 17-19 and during this time, I wrote and wrote and wrote. I wrote poems, stories, lyrics and scripts and performed my poetry in bars and clubs. It was cathartic for me. When I wrote, it’s like I’m home. It’s a special relationship between my Mind, pen and my Soul. It’s difficult to explain but it’s like I channel into my True Self and I can express myself so much more eloquently and articulately when I write and when I’m in flow. It’s this feeling that makes it not seem as though it is work. It always has been and always will be.
Before I published my books, I had various jobs. I worked in Film and TV for a while working as a runner working long hours for £40 a day, I’ve worked as a receptionist, kids activity leader, waitress (terrible at it), retail assistant (terrible at it!) It wasn’t until I lived in Tanzania in 2000 for a year to work as a voluntary teacher that I found out who I truly was and found my calling as a teacher. I realized, at this point, that I could have a positive impact on the world and that I had a lot to contribute.
My life changed in 2000 and having been dead against further education, I decided to go to University, study Film and TV and worked as a runner in the world of TV before going back to University again and becoming a teacher eight years later. Teaching English and working as a pastoral leader gave me a strong sense of responsibility and through teaching I learned that teaching is as much about learning too. When we are open to learning, we always develop. The young people I work with everyday inspire me to want to be the best version of myself. I cannot tell them to reach for the stars and believe strongly in their dreams if I do not model my example. After 6 years of teaching, I quit my full time job in July 2014, having overcome doubt and fear, and published my book in Sept 2014. In my leaving card one of the students wrote, “We will miss you but you are doing what you are supposed to be doing... following your dreams.” This confirmed it all for me.
Since then, I run empowerment workshops with women, work P/T in an Alternative Provision for Girls and run empowerment workshops there and have just set up my own book coaching and publishing company Conscious Dreams. I train, coach and advise women through the publishing process and encourage them to use their stories to inspire and empower others. I am always on the lookout for new writers who want to create a change.
3. What inspired you to start the book project "Mr Wrong"?
I was inspired by own experiences first and foremost but also the experiences of others. I am a self-confessed EX, I repeat EX Mr Wrong magnet. I seemed to attract men who would love me and leave me, promise me the world then disappear or men that were simply not who they said they were. I also had so many 30+ single female friends who are vivacious, supportive, kind-hearted, beautiful and loving who seemed to be attracting the same sort of men.
I am a strong believer that our outer world reflects our inner world and that we are the creators of all that happens within our lives and responsible for what we attract. I was simply not good enough to point the finger and blame external forces as I believe as Trudi said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.”
I wanted to create a book that not only offers a platform for women (and also a space for men in Chapter 12) to share their stories but a safe space to self-reflect. I am a very private person and would never in my wildest dreams imagine me coming out to the world and admitting I was having a terrible time in the relationship department but I found once I had claimed my story and
declared that I was ready for change, I became empowered.
My aim, in turn, is to unite, inspire and empower women through the sharing of our stories as well as enable a journey of self- discovery to take place. Through exercises, reflections and quizzes, readers are able to examine, question and challenge negative belief systems they may have about love, relationships and, most importantly, themselves.
I found that there were so many relationships books that tell us “how to be” “who to be” and “what confusing games to play” in order to get XYZ but nothing that truly allows us to go on an inner journey; to self reflect. We need to start to understand that relationships start from within. When we are fully able to love and accept ourselves for all that we are-perfectly imperfect people- we are immediately in a healthier space to step into a loving and fulfilling relationship. I am passionate about facilitating women tapping into their own Inner Power and recognizing their true worth and value. I wanted to create a book that was humorous, insightful and powerful and allow women
not only an insight into the relationships of others, but a space to reflect as well as hearing from a male perspective which is essential- especially with a title “Mr Wrong!” I believe the world would be a much better place if we, both men and women, woke up to our true worth and value on this planet.
4. What do you want readers to get from this book?
I want readers to come away feeling that they are not alone. I want readers to realize that we are responsible for the choices we make and that when we recognize and appreciate our true value and worth we attract that which we truly deserve.
The shout line for Mr Wrong is Learn from Mr Wrong and Claim Mr Right. The reason for this is because I believe in turning out “adversities” into Opportunities and “pain” in Power. I believe that everything that occurs in our life and every single person we meet has something to teach us about ourselves.
Romantic relationships are one of the closest relationships one can get and in them there is so much to learn. I want women to look at their experiences and instead of being bitter, use it as a tool to start examining what needs to changes inside ourselves instead of seeking outside for another experience. I am so appreciative of every single relationship I have had as through them I
have learnt and discovered so much, been given an opportunity to discover and reframe limiting belief systems and begin creating the life that I really want through experiencing what I don’t. In life we are taught that when we fall off a horse we must “get back in the saddle” straightaway but in essence, what we really need to do is journey within and remember to have a laugh about all that has taken place along the way. It is really then that we really let go of our story and really start living.
