Recently I got some news that made me feel super happy & blessed. My ideal scene became reality as I was invited to lead an empowerment workshop for 40 amazing ladies. I was full of energy and positivity, everything was wonderful. It was easy to be grateful for life! But when I received news that changed my future plans with a loved one, I experienced an emotional turmoil. I had to throw my ideal scene in the bin, it was not going to happen like I had planned. I had to let go of what might have been and find acceptance with what is...
I found a key to acceptance during a boxing class at the gym, my body helped me to remember something valuable. Before I hit the boxing bag, I bowed. It came automatically as all those years in karate had installed it into my core. It was the very first thing I learnt in karate, everything begins with a bow and ends with a bow. It shows that I’m paying respect to someone or something. I remembered how I bowed in karate competitions to my opponent. If she got a point, I bowed. If I got a point, I bowed. We ended our match with a bow. These bows showed respect as well as acceptance. I realized that this is what I need to do with life as well. I could simply take a bow for life and intend to learn from all my experiences. I could focus on finding the lesson behind the challenging situation instead of fighting it, this attitude helped me to take a step towards acceptance.
Your best attitude in any challenging circumstance, no matter how severe, is "This is a blessing. I love this." Even if those words sound hollow or as if they couldn't possibly be true, say them to yourself anyway. - John Morton, DSS
Whether it’s your business or personal life, you can use all your experiences for your learning, upliftment and growth. Ask yourself the following questions: Am I embracing all situations as a blessing? Am I open to all the possibilities life has to offer? Am I judging my experiences good or bad? Am I accepting all my experiences them for my learning, upliftment, and growth?
Acceptance is a choice - it can be a challenging one, but it's a choice nonetheless. Are you struggling to find acceptance with what is? I'd love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and feedback. Please share them with me by emailing at firstname.lastname@example.org
