1. Tell us about yourself.
My name is Patrick Williams. I was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, "where the west begins". I absolutely love helping people inspire themselves to make positive changes. This is what lifts me out of bed every morning.
2. What made you interested in fitness?
I played sports for most of my life, so I really crave that sense of daily dedication to improving myself.
3. Was there a special event that led you to this path?
I have a highly addictive personality and when I was 17 I started getting into trouble. I got thrown in jail for being drunk at a party that the cops crashed. Let's just say my attempt to high jump the fence was not fortuitous. I am so glad that fitness found me. I love the daily grind. After falling in love with the lifestyle, I thought helping other people( most of whom didn't share the same enthusiasm) would be fun. In my mind it didn't seem like it would be "work". I will never forget my first client, Bobbie. She could tell that I was eager and well-meaning, yet nervous as hell. There was this pervasive feeling that I was a fraud. That I didn't have any clue what I was doing. It turns out that I did because Bobbie lost 30 lbs in a little over 3 months! This gave me some confidence that I could do this!
4. If there were one thing you could tell people to try to do that would help them on their journey, what would it be?
I love the quote, "fake it until you become it". You have to use your imagination to paint a vivid picture of what you REALLY want to look and feel like! Not results you can just accept. I'm talking about results that get you excited. Don't be scared of this excitement because you think "well I've tried before and it didn't work out..." That's nonsense. You are capable of 10 times more than you think. Take it from me, I barely made it out of high school and got into mischief for no damn reason, but once I found my inner strength (I'm still discovering it every day) there was no turning back. I may glance over my shoulder, but only for a millisecond.
5. Do you have a special affirmation or message that you would like to share with the readers?
If you are contemplating healthy changes, make sure you have someone who will truly hold you accountable to your resolutions. Two wills are better than one.
