I wanted to give myself some time to unwind and relax, I created a space to just be. I purposefully freed my schedule so that I could spend some days in the Finnish countryside (and of course go to Finnish sauna). This was a proper disconnection for me as there was no internet.
After spending 15 years abroad, I have a new level of appreciation of the Finnish nature. It helps me to discover harmony and recharge my batteries.
Now I gave myself a permission just to be. Let go of doing. And simply relax.
Easier said than done... My thoughts were racing. Some old thought patterns and unfelt feelings showed themselves. I simply observed them first, and then worked through them with my tools.
And then came a moment when I just enjoyed a ray of the sunshine that felt warm on my skin. I enjoyed a spontaneous meditation session that was inspired by the stillness of a lake. It helped me also to connect with my inner stillness.
If you notice that there is something blocking you to enjoy every minute, it's beneficial to pay attention to it. Sometimes we might choose to keep ourselves busy all the time as it keeps those unresolved issues lurking around unattended. When there’s time, those issues might pop up - though they are not coming surface to bug you, they come there for healing.
