June has always been a special month for me.
I grew up in Finland, where June is the month of endless Light.
In the northern parts of the country, the sun barely sets. Even late at night, there is still light in the sky. We call it the “nightless night.”
As a child, I took it for granted.
Today, I see it differently.
Because Light has become one of the most powerful metaphors in my life.
Not because life has been free from challenges.
But because Light reminds me that there is always more possibility available than we can see in the moment.
Recently, I had a small but meaningful experience that brought this lesson home once again.
I walked into a local bookstore carrying a copy of my book, Your Spiritual Curriculum, and asked if they would consider stocking it.
I had no idea what the answer would be.
They could have said no.
They could have told me they weren’t interested.
They could have politely explained that they already had enough books.
And honestly, it would have been very easy not to ask at all.
I could have told myself that another time would be better.
I could have assumed they wouldn’t be interested.
I could have waited until I felt more confident.
Instead, I walked in and asked.
And they said yes.
Today, my book is available in a real bookstore.
But looking back, I realized that the bookstore wasn’t really the story.
The story was willingness.
The willingness to take a step before I knew the outcome.
And I think this is where many purpose-driven entrepreneurs and high achievers get stuck.
Most high achievers are not afraid of hard work.
They are not afraid of commitment.
They are not afraid of learning new skills or investing in their growth.
What often slows them down is something much more subtle.
The need to know.
The need to know the outcome before taking action.
The need to know the timing.
The need to know that it will work.
The need to know they won’t be rejected.
The need to know they won’t fail.
And yet, many of life’s most meaningful opportunities don’t arrive with guarantees.
They arrive as invitations.
An invitation to ask.
An invitation to apply.
An invitation to share.
An invitation to become visible.
An invitation to trust yourself before certainty appears.
This is one of the invisible ceilings I see often.
We tell ourselves we’re being strategic.
We tell ourselves we’re waiting for the right time.
We tell ourselves we need more information.
But sometimes what we are really waiting for is certainty.
And certainty rarely comes before action.
More often, it comes because of action.
June reminds me of this every year.
The Light doesn’t force anything.
It simply reveals what is possible.
But possibility alone doesn’t create change.
We still have to move toward it.
We still have to take the step.
We still have to ask the question.
As you move through this month of Light, I invite you to reflect on this:
What opportunity is waiting for you to take the first step?
Where are you waiting for certainty before allowing yourself to move?
And what might become possible if you simply asked?
Because sometimes the answer is yes.
But even more importantly, sometimes growth begins the moment you are willing to ask the question.
